About Invisix

Semiconductor manufacturers can't build what they can't measure. Invisix is a deep-tech semiconductor metrology scale-up, building on more than a decade of foundational research to keep Moore's Law moving. We develop short-wavelength metrology technology that measures what visible light can't: transistors as they shrink, and the three-dimensional chip architectures replacing today's flat ones.

We're a small team, but the depth of knowledge inside Invisix is anything but small. Our culture is professional and fast-paced, with short communication lines and a strong sense of shared purpose. Everyone here is committed, and everyone knows their work directly contributes to something bigger.

The Role

We're looking for a Sensing & Calibration Architect to own the technical architecture that bridges our optical hardware and the algorithms that interpret its signals. This is not a role confined to one side of that bridge. You'll set direction across both our sensing and calibration teams, and manage the interface to our inference systems.

You'll report to the Project Leader of Software & Algorithms, and hold the system-level view that connects the two disciplines, representing them at the points where they meet the rest of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the technical architecture spanning sensing and calibration, connecting optical hardware with the algorithms that interpret its signals

  • Define and manage the interface and technical requirements between calibration and inference algorithms

  • Develop and refine calibration methodologies that support our reconstruction algorithms, closing the gap between what the instrument can achieve and what our metrology requires, while accounting for drift and inaccuracies in the sensing chain

  • Integrate calibration methods into the broader on-tool software framework

  • Give technical leadership to the sensing and calibration teams, setting direction and solving architectural problems

  • Hold the system-level view, bringing the team's work together and representing the discipline at cross-organizational interfaces

Is this you?

  • PhD in physics, photonics, or a closely related field

  • A technical profile that combines either algorithm expertise with hands-on optical hardware experience, or an experimental background with strong signal processing and algorithmic knowledge

  • Solid modeling and simulation expertise in optical systems, including optical beam propagation and Fourier optics

  • Substantial practical experience analyzing optical measurement data

  • Direct, hands-on experience with optical signal acquisition hardware, including spectrometers, detectors, and diffraction gratings

Nice to have, but not required:

  • Experience leading or providing technical guidance to others

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to set technical direction for sensing and calibration within a research-backed, scaling organization

  • Competitive salary and benefits, including an Employee Share Ownership Plan

  • A learning and development budget to support your growth

  • Flexible working arrangements, and room to grow alongside the company

Interested?
