Job description

About Invisix

Semiconductor manufacturers can't build what they can't measure. Invisix Measuring Systems is a fast-growing scale-up in the high-tech industry, developing next-generation metrology solutions for the semiconductor sector. We work at the intersection of optics, software, and data.

We're a small team, but the depth of knowledge inside Invisix is anything but small. Our culture is professional and fast-paced, with short communication lines and a strong sense of shared purpose. Everyone here is committed, and everyone knows their work directly contributes to something bigger.

The Role

We're looking for an IT & Security Specialist to run IT at Invisix day to day: laptops and accounts, our Microsoft 365 and Azure environment, the office and lab network, and information security amongst others.

Reporting to our COO, you'll be our first in-house IT specialist and the go-to person for IT for all colleagues, from new starters to the engineers who build our metrology equipment. You set up and look after the tools people work with, keep our cloud environment and data secure, and shape how IT grows with the company. For specialist work you can call on external IT partners, whom you manage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT at Invisix: solve day-to-day issues, and arrange laptops, accounts and access for colleagues who join or leave

  • Manage our Microsoft 365 and Azure environment, including identities, device management, SharePoint and Teams, and the cloud resources our teams use

  • Own information security in practice, such as access rights, multi-factor authentication, device security, backups and security awareness among colleagues

  • Look after the office and lab network, including Wi-Fi, firewall and switches, printers and meeting room equipment

  • Support our engineering teams with developer tools, license servers and user access, and keep lab and equipment networks properly separated from office IT

  • Manage IT suppliers, software licenses, the asset register and the IT budget, and take on adjacent responsibilities as the company grows, such as IT policies or security certification

Is this you?

  • Degree in IT, computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience), with at least 5 years of experience in IT administration or support, ideally in a small or growing company

  • Hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune, and working knowledge of Azure

  • Practical knowledge of information security basics, such as identity and access management, endpoint security, backups and handling security incidents

  • Experience setting up and maintaining office networks, including Wi-Fi, firewalls and switches

  • A service-minded, self-driven way of working, with a startup mindset and the ability to explain technical topics in plain language to any colleague

  • Active use of AI tooling in your daily work (scripting, troubleshooting, documentation, user guides) to boost efficiency

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting engineering or R&D teams, for example with developer tools, Git platforms or license servers

  • Scripting and automation experience, for example with PowerShell

  • Microsoft certifications, such as Microsoft 365 Administrator or Azure Administrator

  • Experience in a high-tech or industrial environment, including lab or production networks

What We Offer

  • A role at the heart of how Invisix works every day, with real ownership of our IT and security from day one

  • Competitive salary and benefits, including an Employee Share Ownership Plan

  • A learning and development budget to support your growth

  • Flexible working arrangements, and room to grow into adjacent responsibilities as the team scales
