Job description
About Invisix
Semiconductor manufacturers can't build what they can't measure. Invisix Measuring Systems is a fast-growing scale-up in the high-tech industry, developing next-generation metrology solutions for the semiconductor sector. We reconstruct the detailed 3D geometry of next-generation chips, geometry no one else can see.
We were founded by former ASML experts in metrology, and we're now scaling the team to bring that technology to market.
We're a small team, but the depth of knowledge inside Invisix is anything but small. Our culture is professional and fast-paced, with short communication lines and a strong sense of shared purpose. Everyone here is committed, and everyone knows their work directly contributes to something bigger.
The Role
We're looking for an Application Engineer, Device Expert to be our technical device authority. You'll be the primary liaison between Invisix and tier-1 semiconductor manufacturers, modeling cutting-edge device architectures and translating customer requirements into modeling specifications.
This is not a behind-the-scenes modeling job. You'll lead technical discussions with senior engineering teams at our customers, present complex device structures to sophisticated audiences, and travel to customer sites roughly once a quarter.
Key Responsibilities
Model semiconductor devices by analyzing process flows, layer structures, and technical specifications
Extract customer requirements through direct engagement, and convert them into modeling assignments
Develop and refine device models and data recipes for demonstrations, together with the Application Team Lead and our data analysts
Take primary responsibility for device architecture discussions in customer meetings and demos
Guide our algorithm and software teams on new modeling methods and recipe optimization
Adapt quickly to emerging process technologies and evolving software capabilities
Is this you?
Master's degree or PhD in physics, materials science, or electrical engineering
At least 3 years at a tier-1 semiconductor manufacturer (Samsung, TSMC, Intel, Micron, SK Hynix) or a major metrology supplier
Comprehensive knowledge of semiconductor device architecture and manufacturing processes, detailed enough to describe advanced structures from memory
Strong Python skills, with the ability to write functional code under pressure
The ability to perform under time pressure, with high-visibility stakeholder communication
Fluent English, at a level suited to customer interaction at every level
Nice to have, but not required:
Experience with optical CD metrology recipe setup
Inverse problem-solving experience
Korean and/or Mandarin Chinese
What We Offer
A role at the front line of Invisix's customer relationships, modeling the devices that shape their investment decisions
Competitive salary and benefits, including an Employee Share Ownership Plan
A learning and development budget to support your growth
Flexible working arrangements
